Panipat - Remember the three famous battles?
I went for my senior school at MASD Public School in my native place Panipat in Haryana, India. So, do you recall Panipat? hmm.. so you did read your history books. Yes, Panipat has seen 3 famous battles in the Medieval Period. But now, its more of an industrial town than a historical one. It is famous for its handloom and power loom industry, the main products being carpets, blankets, rugs etc. In fact, 75% of export of these products from India takes place from Panipat alone. It is also designated as the first eco-town of India due to the economy boom it provided.
I have many fond memories of my senior school. I have included some pictures in my photo album. Do check them out. It was due to the high quality of education here that I was awarded the National Talent Search Scholarship for the batch of 1993 by the National Council of Educational Research and Training, New Delhi. I also topped the region in the AISSCE exams conducted for the class XII by CBSE, New Delhi.
Kurukshetra - The land of the Mahabharata
I went to Regional Engineering College, Kurukshetra (now National Institute of Technology) for my undergrad and obtained a B. Tech. degree in Computer Engineering. Again, a bell strikes?? Yes, Kurukshetra is famous for the battle of Mahabharata - the longest epic ever written. So, I belong to the area of battlefields :-) But trust me, I never acquired such a tendency.
The undergraduate years were a lot of fun, and that was the time when I understood the true meaning of life. The ragging that we went through in our fresher year and the experiences that followed in the next 3 years were really helpful in understanding how things work. I shall always miss those 4 years of my life. I have also included a few pictures from RECK in my photo album.
USA - The land of the dreams!
I went to the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign for my graduate study and obtained an MS degree in Computer Science. I have to mention here that the quality of education that I got here was incomparable to that in India. Everything is so systemized and practical. I was simply amazed by their education system. You have to see it to believe it. I had funding throughout my two years of study. I was a TA (Teaching Assistant) for 3 semesters and an RA (Research Assistant) for one semester. I also got the best TA award in my third semester.
